Head coach of Penang, Zainal Abidin Hassan has warned his team against complacency and urged them to continue their unbeaten run.

Pulau Pinang picked up their first win of the season last weekend when they won 1-0 over Felda United and are unbeaten in their last three league games but speaking ahead of the game against Kelantan, Zainal insisted that they cannot be complacent with their current run.

Zainal also warned his players to pay more attention to Kelantan’s in-form striker and Super League current top-scorer, Mohammed Ghaddar.

Speaking to Penang’s official website, Zainal said: “For me, we must pay attention to Ghaddar, Badhri Razi and Indra Putra. We must not let them to have a shot or any attempt at our goal.”

“Even though we won against Felda United before, it doesnt mean that we can take this game lightly because we know Kelantan play at a really high tempo.”

With qualification spots in this year’s Malaysia Cup still up for grabs, Zainal said this would be a do-or-die mission for them to book their slot.

Zainal is also expecting import defender, Reinaldo Lobo to be fit for the game and strengthen their defensive lines.

“The last two games for the first round of Super League for us are like a do-or-die missions if we want to book a spot in the Malaysia Cup.”

“I am confident that the players will give their 100% focus when we face Kelantan this Saturday and JDT next week,” added Zainal.

Pulau Pinang are set to welcome Kelantan at Batu Kawan Stadium, with The Red Warriors only played three days ago in which they lost to JDT 3-2.
