Behind a goal and an assist from Carli Lloyd, the Americans overwhelmed the Germans on offense and stifled them on defense. The United States has gone 513 minutes without conceding a goal.

Germany's Celia Sasic missed a penalty kick in the 60th minute for the Germans, and Lloyd converted a PK in the 69th to give the U.S. a one-goal lead. Lloyd would add and assist 15 minutes later when she fed Kelly O'Hara in the box for the American's second and final goal.

Here's what you missed, complete with video highlights.

USA vs Germany live updates

FINAL: The United States defeats Germany, 2-0. U.S. will play for the 2015 Women's World Cup against either England or Japan.

The final will be held Sunday, July 5, at 7 p.m. ET on FOX.

Second Half

90' (+3): Sydney Leroux comes on for Alex Morgan to wind out the clock.

90' (+1): The countdown begins. The U.S. is stoppage time away from the Women's World Cup final.

84': USA GOAL! Kelley O'Hara buries one off a cross from Lloyd. The U.S. leads 2-0 with five minutes plus stoppage time to go.

79': Abby Wambach checking into the game for Megan Rapinoe. Wambach just needs to give 15 strong minutes here.

69': USA GOAL! Carli Lloyd drills the PK home and the U.S. takes a 1-0 lead. The U.S. will now need to hold off the Germans for 20+ minutes to reach the Women's World Cup Final for the second consecutive World Cup. The Americans have not allowed a goal in 493 minutes and counting. That also makes three goals in three games for Carli Lloyd.

67': YELLOW CARD: German defender takes down Morgan in the box. Earning a yellow and a penalty for the U.S.!

The foul appears to take place outside of the box. Could be controversial if it comes back to haunt Germany.

66': Morgan misses ANOTHER shot in tight. Left-footed shot again, and it goes wide right.

60': PENALTY KICK MISSED: Germany's Sasic misses left. Hope Solo dove to the right, but was bailed out by the miss.

Also, former U.S. Congressman John Dingell is as confused as the rest of us about the pronunciation of Sasic.

59': YELLOW CARD: Yellow in the box for Julie Johnston for taking down a german in the box. Penalty kick coming.

52': A heartstopping moment for the U.S., as a header by the Germans goes just wide. Germans really coming to life now.

51': Germany getting some pressure, but still no serious scoring chances. FOX Commentators say the Germans look scared. Can't say I disagree.

46': The second half is underway!

HALFTIME

Reminder: Not everyone is a fan of the U.S.

First half

45' (+3): Rapinoe down momentarily, holding her head. Rough first half to be sure.

45' (+2): Questionable play between Popp and Rapinoe, but no cards issued.

43': Morgan tries to put it over Angerer, but it misses just wide. That's the second point-blank opportunity Morgan has missed.

38': YELLOW CARD: The United States' Becky Sauerbrunn gets booked for a slide tackle.

37': The U.S. gets three consecutive corners but can't convert any. German defense holding very tough in the box.

34': YELLOW CARD: Germany's Leonie Maier for fouling Rapinoe.

33': Brian quickly back on the field and gets right into the action.

32': Brian given concussion tests. She comes off the pitch.

29': Nasty collision off a free kick. Morgan Brian down for the U.S. and Alexandra Popp for Germany.

14': Alex Morgan gets free but can't finish past Angerer. Beautiful foot save by the German keeper.

10': Rapinoe let's a shot off, but it's not nearly hard enough to get past Angerer.

7':  Nice chance there for the U.S., but to no avail. Rapinoe and Julie Johnston nearly connect for a goal off a setpiece, but Nadine Angerer was there to grab it.

1': The Germans kick off and we are underway!

Pregame

5:54 p.m.  Megan Rapinoe is back in the U.S. starting lineup after serving a one-game suspension. The Americans will play out of the same 4-2-3-1 formation they did at the end of the Colombia game.
