Despite having scored a brace in each of Selangor's Super League match this season, Spanish forward Rufino Segovia maintains that helping his club win matches is a more-satisfying achievement than any individual glory.

Last Sunday, he scored both goals in their 2-0 Klang Valley Derby win over Kuala Lumpur, while on Wednesday he added two more to his tally when the Red Giants defeated Melaka United 4-1. He could have bagged a hat-trick against the Mousedeers, but his penalty just before halftime was saved by goalkeeper Zamir Selamat.

His four goals have now taken Selangor to the top of the standings, and himself to the top-scorer spot after two rounds.

"I feel happy because the team have been playing very, very well. We played a great match today, and when you have good teammates as a striker, you job is easy.

"I almost scored three today, but I'm still happy. We need to keep this up," said the former Atletico Madrid player when met by Goal after the match.

He does not want to put too much stock into the goals, instead simply preferring to concentrate on helping the Red Giants collect three points.

"I will try my best (to score) everytime, but (realistically) I can't score in every match. I'm happy when I score, but for me what's most important now is the team," said Rufino.

Meanwhile, he graciously paid credits to his teammates in the post-match interview with the match broadcaster, remarking that his current streak is down to the quality of the players who have been feeding him passes.

"We have good players like Amri [Yahyah], Evan Dimas, Ilham [Udin Armaiyn], Kugan [Dhevarajan] and Syahmi [Safari]," said the 32-year old. "All are players in the middle who have good quality to give me through balls."

This Saturday, Selangor will play away to Terengganu FC in their round three league match.
