Roy Hodgson has paid tribute to Wilfried Zaha after winning Crystal Palace’s Player of the Year award for the third successive year.

The 25-year-old, following his standout performances that saw the Eagles avoid relegation from the Premier League, was voted by supporters as the team's best player for the 2017-18 campaign.

Zaha is now joint second player in the Selhurst Park outfit‘s history to win the award three times in a roll after Julian Speroni who achieved the same feat between 2008 and 2010.

"He's shown how special he is for a long time now. This year, when we really needed players to step up to the plate and get us out of the situation we found ourselves in, and we've pulled off a great escape,” Hodgson told club website.

"Wilf has done exceptionally well and I fully understand why the fans have voted for him as the Player of the Year."
