After setting the Premier League goal scoring record in his first year at Manchester City last season, expectations are extremely high for Erling Haaland as he entered the current campaign.
The Norwegian jumped out of the gates early with another furious run of form, leading many to believe that he and his club might again run away with the league title.
Yet a recent drought has brought expectations somewhat back down to earth, seeing Man City drop out of the top spot in the standings and leaving Haaland looking over his shoulder on the individual goal scoring charts.

When did Haaland last score a goal for Man City?
With Man City falling 1-0 to Arsenal on October 8, Erling Haaland has now gone three matches without a goal across all competitions. His last goal came in the 14th minute of the 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest, now on a run of 346 scoreless minutes.
While most players wouldn't even find that notable through the ebbs and flows of a normal season, but for a player as prolific as Haaland, a drought of that nature will no doubt become a talking point in the coming weeks if that doesn't change.
His streak includes two Premier League matches, having drawn a blank in defeats to Wolves and Arsenal in consecutive games. It also includes the 3-1 Champions League victory over RB Leipzig, and while Man City also tasted defeat to Newcastle in the EFL Cup during that stretch, Haaland did not play in that game so it is not included.
Man City record without Rodri
In recent weeks, Erling Haaland isn't the only player who feels missing for Manchester City.
Rodri was suspended three domestic games for his red card against Nottingham Forest, and Man City lost all three games that Rodri has missed for such offence.
Mateo Kovacic and John Stones filled in at defensive midfielder against Arsenal, but they were not as influential as the Spaniard is known to be.
The consecutive league defeats to Wolves and Arsenal without Rodri mark the first time Man City have lost two consecutive Premier League matches since 2018.
