England predicted starting XI vs Serbia

Southgate is still assessing his options ahead of England's Group C opener with Serbia but he is expected to remain loyal to Manchester United defender Harry Maguire with the experienced Kieran Trippier covering at left-back.

Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold could be moved forward into a midfield role with Jude Bellingham mirroring the No.10 slot he plays at Real Madrid.

England projected starting lineup (4-2-3-1, right to left): Pickford (GK) — Walker, Stones, Maguire, Trippier — Alexander-Arnold, Rice — Saka, Bellingham, Foden — Kane

England's European Championship record

England's final defeat at Euro 2020 was the closest the Three Lions have come to winning the European Championship in their first ever final appearance. They memorably reached the semifinal as hosts in Euro '96 but their overall record is mixed
