Shakhtar Donetsk, still harbouring hopes of a Champions League knockout spot, host Barcelona in Hamburg, Germany on Tuesday in what could be their final chance to springboard into a competitive position in Group H.

The Ukrainian club troubled an injury-riddled Barcelona  two weeks ago, but fell just short of the necessary comeback, unable to overcome the two first-half Barcelona goals in a 2-1 defeat.

Yet Barcelona have recovered significantly since that match, with the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, and Pedri all now fit after missing out in that game.

Barca rest atop the group standings with a perfect nine points from three matches, while Shakhtar are third with just three points. With Porto in second on six points and set to face last-placed Royal Antwerp, Shakhtar may need to engineer a famous upset win here to have a shot at challenging Porto for the other qualifying position.

Shakhtar Donetsk vs Barcelona projected lineups & team news

The only major injury issue for Shakhtar head coach Marino Pusic to worry about is that to striker Lassina Traore who suffered a long-term injury early in the season. Otherwise, he has a fully fit squad at his disposal.

Shakhtar have long been a hotbed for young Ukrainian talent, and the latest to keep an eye on is 21-year-old playmaker Georgiy Sudakov who has been linked with the likes of Barcelona, Manchesrer City, and Juventus in recent weeks. Meanwhile, 27-year-old centre-back Mykola Matvienko is highly thought of as well, reportedly on Brighton's radar last winter and listed by Transfermarkt.com as the Ukrainian club's most valuable player.

Shakhtar Donetsk projected starting lineup (4-1-4-1): Riznyk (GK) — Konoplia, Bondar, Matviyenko, Rakiskiy — Stepanenko — Zubkov, Bondarenko, Sudakov, Kryskiv — Sikan.

After struggling with injuries and suspensions over the last few weeks, Barcelona have massive reinforcements on the way for this road game.

Lewandowski is finally back for Barcelona, having started over the weekend against Real Sociedad in a 57-minute appearance. Raphinha is also expected to return to the starting lineup following a 21-minute cameo off the bench in that recent 1-0 win, while Pedri returned in similar fashion.

Frenkie de Jong has returned to training after two months out, meaning a place on the bench is his most likely initial involvement. That leaves Sergi Roberto (calf) as the only Barcelona player still sidelined.

Barcelona projected starting lineup (4-3-3): ter Stegen (GK) — Cancelo, Christensen, Kounde, Balde — Pedri, Gundogan, Gavi — Raphinha, Lewandowski, Felix.

Shakhtar Donetsk vs Barcelona betting odds & lines

While Shakhtar turned heads in the reverse fixture between these clubs two weeks ago in Spain, that Barcelona team was missing a number of key players. This time, with a far more full-strength Barcelona squad at Xavi's disposal, it is tough to see Shakhtar finding room to repeat their second-half turnaround.

Prediction: Shakhtar Donetsk 1-3 Barcelona
