It looks like the Montreal Impact really are better off without Didier Drogba.

The Impact took a 4-2 victory over D.C. United to move into the Eastern Conference semifinals. Montreal rolled early, taking a 2-0 lead into the halftime break, and the Impact's leading scorer was the provider on the second goal of the match. Ignacio "Nacho" Piatti scored 17 goals during the season, but burst by his defender and put in a ball that Matteo Mancosu finished off.

The visitors were up a goal early when center back Laurent Ciman slid home a corner kick from Marco Donadel in the fourth minute of the match. The Impact won the set piece when D.C. United defender Bobby Boswell appeared to miss a shout from goalkeeper Bill Hamid to let a cross run and allow a teammate to recycle the ball.

Things didn't let up in the second half, with Mancosu again finding the back of the net.

And Piatti got a goal for himself to take the lead even further with United failing to clear a ball despite having a significant numerical advantage.

D.C. United pulled two goals back late to make things more respectable, including a rocket from Taylor Kemp, but the hole was too big for United to climb out of.
