As the calendar switches to June, the Major League Soccer season heats up with the chase for the Supporters' Shield, playoff spots in both conferences, and the launch of the new Leagues Cup competition with Mexico's Liga MX.

And so it's timely that Apple TV — the new home for MLS beginning in 2023 — unveiled a new midseason price point for fans who haven't yet signed up.

Those fans who do subscribe could be set to see some new title contenders with FC Cincinnati emerging as the East leaders, and expansion side St. Louis City SC proving competitive from Day 1 in the West, where the Seattle Sounders are back contending.

And the playoff races are tight enough that several early season strugglers are likely to make a run for the postseason. LA Galaxy, Sporting Kansas City, and Austin FC are sure hoping for a reversal of fortunes.

The Sporting News brings you all the details as to how the MLS Season Pass works on Apple TV after the midway point of the campaign.

How to watch MLS on Apple TV in 2023

Apple TV is the new home of Major League Soccer beginning in 2023, with every match of the season streamed on the platform via MLS Season Pass.

There are no local blackouts or broadcast restrictions, no need to change the channel, and no searching for local sports networks carrying the matches. The games are all in one place for the next 10 years, with the two entities teaming up on a long-term partnership.

Every week, up to six select matches will be available to watch for free on the platform, without the need for a subscription. However, to get every single match and ensure you can watch your team all season long, a subscription to MLS Season Pass is required.

Keep in mind that Apple TV+ and MLS Season Pass are not one and the same. MLS Season Pass is a separate package which can be purchased separately from the Apple TV+ streaming service. However, existing Apple TV+ subscribers do get the MLS Season Pass at a discounted rate.

While every match is on Apple TV via the Season Pass, a few of the matches throughout the season will also be on TV in the USA with Fox and FS1 carrying a total of 34 matches in English and on Fox Deportes in Spanish. Select matches will also be televised by TSN and RDS in Canada.

All televised matches are still available to stream as part of the MLS Season Pass package.
