The 2024/25 UEFA Champions League promises to be one for the history books, as the first of the new-age expanded and reorganized competition.
The world's most famous and visible club competition has expanded to 36 teams and reshuffled the old group stage into what's been dubbed the "league phase," where teams will play eight matches against randomly selected opponents and placed into a full table.
All clubs will be thrown into the mixer to compete against one another, and there are some premium matchups on the schedule as a result.
With the knockout phase playoffs over, only 16 teams remain in the competition, with each side having one eye on the quarterfinals. The previous stage of the competition saw many surprises, with Italian giants AC Milan and Juventus being knocked out by Eredivisie sides Feyenoord and PSV Eindhoven, respectively. The 2023 Champions League winners, Manchester City, who were one of the top contenders at the start of the season, were convincingly defeated by Real Madrid across two legs and saw their European journey come to an end.
Tuesday's marquee fixture will see Real Madrid host Atletico Madrid in the Madrid derby. Elsewhere, Arsenal will travel to PSV, while Borussia Dortmund host Lille. Aston Villa will look to continue their impressive return to the Champions League as they make the trip to Club Brugge.
On Wednesday, all eyes will be on the Parc des Princes, where PSG will host Liverpool in their Round of 16 first-leg clash. In other matches, Bayern Munich will clash with fellow Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen, Barcelona will travel to Benfica, while Inter face Feyenoord.
The Sporting News brings you how to watch every upcoming match in the United States, as the growth of the game has exploded in recent years with fans all over the country hoping to tune in and watch some of Europe's biggest teams and stars clash in the world's most coveted club competition.
