Occurring every two years, the Africa Cup of Nations is always a premier international soccer event that draws significant viewership as teams across the CAF confederation look to hoist the prestigious title.

Nations must qualify for the finals, meaning that between the biannual event, teams are drawn into groups to contest qualifying matches through the coming international breaks.

Ivory Coast are defending champions of the event, having won on home soil earlier this year in the postponed 2023 event. Since Morocco are hosting the upcoming tournament, they have automatically qualified, but will still participate in the qualifying tournament anyways as a non-competitive participant, meaning their positioning is ignored for qualifying purposes.
