Goal.com rates the United States players in Tuesday's 0-0 draw vs. Trinidad and Tobago. Players are rated on a scale of zero (worst) to five (best) stars:

Goalkeeper

Tim Howard: Three stars. Saw a few shots, but nothing that was too difficult for the veteran. Still, deserves credit for not making any mistakes and earning the clean sheet.

Defenders/midfielders

Michael Orozco: 2½ stars. Had to deal with Joevin Jones at times, but managed to avoid giving up anything too dangerous. Did well to cover for DeAndre Yedlin's struggles.

Tim Ream: Two stars. Was OK in the first half, but really struggled when Joevin Jones switched flanks in the second, forcing coach Jurgen Klinsmann to drop Fabian Johnson back into the back line.

DeAndre Yedlin: Two stars. Really struggled containing Joevin Jones for much of the night, needed his back line to bail him out. Offensively he didn't create the danger you'd like from a winger.

Matt Besler: Three stars. Like Geoff Cameron, had a devil of a time with Kenwyne Jones early, though he eventually settled into the game. Solid effort.

Geoff Cameron: Three stars. Struggled early with his ex-teammate at Stoke, Kenwyne Jones, but grew into the game. Got forward in the second half but with no payoff.

Fabian Johnson: 2½ stars. Could generate the same level of threat going forward, but worked hard at tracking back.

Jermaine Jones: 2½ stars. Mixed it up with Kenwyne Jones and earned his typical yellow card. Nearly scored a spectacular goal from distance but was denied by a slight touch from keeper Jan-Michael Williams, and the bar.

Michael Bradley: Two stars. Involved as usual, but his distribution was lacking as he was unable to break down T&T's three-man central midfield.

Forwards

Jozy Altidore: 3½ stars. His best game in a U.S. shirt in a long while. Could have had two assists on great crosses, but Gyasi Zardes couldn't finish either time. Was easily his side's best player on the evening.

Gyasi Zardes: 1½ stars. Worked hard, but his technical ability let him down as he flubbed multiple golden opportunities. Subbed off for Bobby Wood.

Substitutes

Darlington Nagbe: 2½ stars. Came on for Ream and moved to the left wing. Probably defended more than he'd like but made a case for starts in the future.

Bobby Wood: Two stars. Brought on with less than 15 minutes to go and couldn't deliver another big goal. May wonder what he might have done with the chances Zardes was afforded.
