USA vs. Germany odds and pick – Goals on tap for Wednesday’s friendly image

Following a thrilling 4-3 victory over Netherlands on Friday, USA will set its sights on claiming another significant scalp when they face world champions Germany on Wednesday (2:45 p.m. ET, Fox Sports 1).

Jurgen Klinsmann's men came from 3-1 down to shock the Dutch in Amsterdam and will be in buoyant mood ahead of their meeting with Joachim Low's side in Koln.

The enormity of the task facing Team USA, though, is reflected in the odds, with the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook offering a chunky 6-to-1 price that Klinsmann's men come out on top.

Germany can be backed at just -250 with the same book to enjoy a home win, with the draw priced at odds of +410.

USA is also available at +1.5 goals (-140), with Germany laying -1.5 goals (+120) on the spread bet.

These two sides met in the group stages of the last World Cup, with Germany running out as 1-0 winners, but it would be of little surprise to see a high-scoring match on this occasion.

Indeed, Germany's five home fixtures since winning last summer's tournament in Brazil have produced 19 goals, while the last five away matches involving Team USA have seen an astonishing 24 goals scored.

Therefore, it is somewhat unsurprising that the posted total at the Vegas SuperBook is 3 goals (OVER -140, UNDER +120).  The OVER is appealing here.

Bettors may also be tempted by -133 odds offered offshore for both teams to score.

Despite an impressive win in Amsterdam on Friday night, Team USA's defensive frailty remains clear for all to see, and it is a weakness that the World Cup winners can be trusted to exploit.

Klinsmann's men have conceded 14 goals in their last five matches away from home and, therefore, the -105 offered offshore for Germany to net in both halves is too big to ignore ahead of this clash in Koln.
