The U.S. men's national team's chances at making it to the 2022 World Cup knockout stage took a massive blow when Gareth Bale netted from the penalty spot in Monday's draw with Wales. However, if Gregg Berhalter's side could get a positive result against England, all would undoubtedly be forgiven.

That's easier said than done, admittedly. The Yanks haven't had too much success against their English cousins over the years; the USMNT has just two wins over the Three Lions in its history. However, it has also never suffered defeat in the World Cup against its former overlords, nabbing a 1-1 draw in the 2010 iteration of the competition and famously beating heavily favored England in the 1950 competition.
With the likes of Tyler Adams, Christian Pulisic, Antonee "Jedi" Robinson and Matt Turner all having experience in the English top flight, the U.S. has its own crop of Premier League talents to call upon. It's hard to say this particular group of players has ever faced a team as imposing as England, though, certainly not on the global stage.
