Union Saint-Gilloise vs. Rangers: Time, TV channel, live stream, lineup for Champions League qualifying image

Rangers are within striking distance of a place in the Champions League group stages for the first time since 2010 ahead of taking on Union Saint-Gilloise in August's third-round qualifying series.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst's side made it all the way to the Europa League final last season, where they lost to Eintracht Frankfurt, but they want a Champions League return in 2022/23.

Rangers' stronger UEFA seeding means they will play the second leg at home, on August 9, after traveling to Belgium for the first leg, a week earlier.

The Scottish outfit will play Monaco or PSV Eindhoven in the UEFA Champions League play-off round if they beat Union Saint-Gilloise in the third round qualifier.

Union Saint-Gilloise vs. Rangers lineups

Union Saint-Gilloise field their strongest available side as they push for a first ever Champions League group stage spot.

Union Saint-Gilloise starting lineup (3-5-2): Moris (GK) — Van Der Heyden, Burgess, Sykes — Lapoussin, Teuma, Lynen, Amani, Nieuwkoop — Vanzeir, Adingra.

Union Saint-Gilloise subs (9): Pirard (GK), El Azzouzi, Puertas, Machida, Dony, Boone, Francois, Ziani, Huygevelde.

Van Bronckhorst is still without key pair Kemar Roofe and Alfredo Morelos for this tie but they could be back in time for the second leg in Glasgow.

Rangers starting lineup (4-2-3-1): McLaughlin (GK) — Barisic, Sands, Goldson, Tavernier — Lundstrum, Kamara — Tillman, Matondo, Jack — Colak.

Rangers subs (11): McGregor (GK), McCrorie, Ridvan, Davies, King, Devine, Davis, Lawrence, Arfield, Wright, Fashion Jr.

Union Saint-Gilloise vs. Rangers betting odds

Only moneyline odds are available for the match scheduled for Aug. 2.

Rangers are the early favorites heading into the first leg in Belgium, where Union Saint-Gilloise had a 11W-6L-3D record and outscored opponents 35-18 during the 2021/22 domestic campaign (including playoffs). It's worth noting that they twice lost at home to Club Brugge during the last campaign, both losses coming by the score of 1-0.

But Rangers were not a great road team in European play last season despite making it all the way to the final of the Europa League. The Scottish giants went 1W-5L-3D in nine away matches in European competitions, often riding their electric home crowd to secure the necessary result to advance. They were shut out in four of those nine games away from Ibrox.

So while the +122 odds for a Rangers road win might look tempting, it could be one to steer away from and wait for goal props to be presented closer to the match with an eye toward a low-scoring affair.
