Is it the hangover from transfer silly season, or the deal that would make more waves that any other in the CONCACAF region this summer?
Either way, reports that Brazilian star Ronaldinho may be on the brink of a move to Liga MX outfit Queretaro are intriguing.
“There are negotiations, but nothing has yet been sealed.” Queretaro sporting director Adolfo Rios told Televisa on Friday. “We’ll have to wait.”
Rios confirmed Queretaro has sent someone to Brazil to help facilitate the deal, but urged caution.
“It wouldn’t be the first time that the situation of looking (to sign) a player occurred and then for negotiations to fail due to external situations,” he added.
La Aficion and Fox Deportes reported the negotiations Thursday, confirming that 34-year-old Ronaldinho is in Mexico and that he could be presented to the media at Gallos Blancos on Friday.
Ronaldinho also posted a photo on his Twitter account of his visit to a Mexico City museum and is due to speak at a charity event later Friday.
