Luis Suarez transfer: Projecting Barcelona's starting lineup image

Barcelona and Liverpool confirmed Friday that Luis Suarez will be transferring to the Spanish giant in what is set to be one of the biggest moves of the summer. And the Uruguayan's new club coach, Luis Enrique, will already be thinking about how to get the best out of the controversial World Cup star.

Suarez, once he returns from suspension at the end of October, will almost certainly be fielded in a three-man front line with Neymar and Lionel Messi.

Neymar has preferred to operate more centrally for Brazil this summer, but would that be a suitable option for Luis Enrique? The ex-Santos star is likely to remain in his position playing from wide on the left, with Suarez a potential option in the center and Messi starting a little wider on the right.

Another possibility is Suarez pushed out to the right, with Messi retaining his favored role in the middle of the three. There is a flexibility that will allow the Barca trident to switch positions and roam in offensive areas.

Further down the pitch, with Carles Puyol looking increasingly likely to be followed out of the door by midfield veteran Xavi, new signing Ivan Rakitic will be just one of a number of new faces looking to lead Barca into a new era.

Javier Mascherano's impressive performances back in midfield for Argentina during the World Cup have also led to calls for him to return to his original position for the Liga side this coming season, though that will surely depend on how successful the club is in its pursuit of a new center back. In goal, new signings Marc-Andre ter-Stegen and Claudio Bravo will fight it out for the No. 1 jersey following the departure of Victor Valdes.

Here is how Barcelona could potentially line up with new signing Suarez. Pick your own Barcelona team below.
