Exciting Central Coast Mariners winger Trent Buhagiar is keen to leave the club because of concerns his development will be stunted.
The Covert Agent can reveal the 19-year-old has told teammates he wants out of Gosford, but so far the club has refused his request.
Buhagiar feels he is best suited to develop his talents elsewhere after Paul Okon's side signed several attacking players, including Andrew Hoole, Daniel De Silva and Asdrubal.
It is also believed Malta are keen to call up the Gosford-born talent to their senior squad, possibly after being alerted to his talents by Maltese international and former Mariners captain John Hutchinson.
It is unknown whether Buhagiar will accept the call-up, having just broke into the Australian under 23 team.
Buhagiar came through the Mariners' Academy before making his debut for senior team in January 2016.
The lightning quick attacker became a regular under Okon last season, scoring two goals in 26 appearances.
