Sydney FC are believed to be interested in signing in-form Melbourne City winger Nick Fitzgerald.
The Covert Agent can reveal Sky Blue coach Graham Arnold wants the 25-year-old in his squad next season as a replacement for David Carney - who is likely to retire from the A-League at the end of the season - and an offer is expected to be made in the coming days.
Fitzgerald, whose contract expires at the end of the campaign, has been one of the most improved players in the league under new City manager Warren Joyce, and is understood to want to try his luck overseas.
However Arnold is hoping his relationship with Fitzgerald, who he coached at the Central Coast Mariners, can help entice the player to the Harbour City.
Fitzgerald has made 139 appearances in the A-League with the Mariners, Brisbane Roar and City - scoring 15 goals.
