As a result, the 2022 World Cup calendar has been altered, and that has provided some exciting holiday entertainment for U.S. fans.
NFL action is usually the main Thanksgiving attraction in the USA, but this year there will be soccer matches competing for fans' attention as well.

World Cup games on Thanksgiving Day 2022
The World Cup schedule features up to four games a day through the group stage. That means there will be World Cup games on Thanksgiving Day this year, which falls on Thursday, November 24.
The Thanksgiving highlight will be South American giants Brazil, who bookmakers have tabbed as the tournament betting favorite. The Selecao are led by PSG superstar Neymar, with other big names playing across top European clubs as well.
Other teams involved on Thanksgiving include Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal, Son Heung-Min and South Korea, Darwin Nunez and Uruguay, and Xherdan Shaqiri and Switzerland.

In a welcome break with tradition, there will be matches on the U.S. holiday as the tournament works through its schedule of group-stage games.
Group G and Group H begin play on Thanksgiving, with Group G favorites Brazil in action for their first match of the World Cup against Serbia.

The day after Thanksgiving, also known as 'Black Friday', will likewise see World Cup match action.
On November 25 there will be four more games to savor, headlined by a huge matchup for the United States. They take the field against England as the second round of group matches gets underway.

When is USA vs. England at the World Cup?
The United States will take on Group A favorites England in the second round of group-stage play on November 25. It's a huge game, as the U.S. will hope to upset one of the tournament's heavyweights.
England will be full of confidence after their huge win over Iran, whilst the USA were pegged back after taking the lead over Wales, with LAFC star Gareth Bale scoring a late penalty to earn his country a point.
