Schalke defender Abdul Rahman Baba believes playing under manager Domenico Tedesco will take his game to the next level.

The 23-year-old is awaiting his first game for the Royal Blues following an 18-month loan switch from English giants Chelsea last month.

And although Baba was also on the books of the Bundesliga outfit last season, it is his first time of linking up with Tedesco, whose reign began in June.

"After less than a minute, I knew he [Tedesco] was the right guy for me," Baba told his club's official website.

"He places a great importance on how he communicates with his players, so he explained what he had planned for me but he also listened to what I had to say.

"The club is lucky to have such a great coach.

"I want to be an important part of the squad and help the team for the rest of this season but also going forward.

"I think the team is on the way to creating something really good here."

Back at Veltins-Arena, Baba is still waiting to make his first appearance due to fitness issues.

He made 13 appearances involving seven starts during his first loan spell.
