Wilfried Bony is aiming to return for Swansea City before the start of pre-season.

The Cote d'Ivoire international suffered an ACL Knee Ligament Injury against Leicester City and was ruled out of the remaining part of the season.

The former Manchester City striker has revealed that he is getting better and hoping to be back in the squad ahead of their preparation for next term.

“I am feeling better. I am almost six weeks on now from the operation and things are going well,” Bony told club website.

“The doctors have told me that I am recovering fast and I could be back for pre-season, so that is my target.

“Mentally I am feeling very strong. I am encouraging my team-mates, trying to motivate them and make them laugh. This is the best way to be.”

The Swans have climbed to the 14th spot in the log, accruing 30 points from 31 games despite their poor start at the beginning of the season.

“Our motivation is to stay in the Premier League and I believe the team will do that,” Bony added.

“Everybody is trying everything to stay up. The manager has given the players a lot of motivation – he has lifted everyone.

“We are happier with our position now but we want more than that – we want to be secure.”

Prior to the setback, the attacker scored three goals in all competitions for the Liberty Stadium outfit since he rejoined the side in August 2017.
