Stormzy airs frustration at being mistaken for £75m Man Utd signing Lukaku image

Romelu Lukaku has completed his £75 million move to Manchester United, but Stormzy is not happy at an Irish newspaper’s case of mistaken identity.

The UK grime artist has responded to The Herald’s use of a picture of him, rather than the Red Devils’ big-money purchase, on their back page.

The £75m questions for Lukaku

The article, headlined “Lukaku is ready for work”, included an image of Stormzy – a famous United supporter.

An apology was quickly issued, with editor Alan Steenson posting on the paper’s website: "Hands up, we got it badly wrong.

“Earlier, we made an error with a picture of Romelu Lukaku that wasn't him. It was Stormzy.

"To be honest, we are totally embarrassed and want to say sorry to all involved and our readers for the error. We will keep our eye on the ball in future."

The original image has gone viral, with Stormzy airing his disappointment at such a high-profile mistake.

He tweeted: "I don't find none of this funny btw."

The Herald responded to the 23-year-old, saying: "Sincere apologies, we don't think it's funny either.”

An unfortunate error was made on Monday morning, prior to the official announcement of Lukaku’s move to Old Trafford.

United have now ratified the deal, with the Belgium international striker having completed a switch from Everton.

He is now free to form part of Jose Mourinho’s squad in America, with United taking part in the 2017 International Champions Cup.
