Sevilla's burgeoning South American contingent is set to grow even larger as the Andalucian club announced the signing of Rosario Central prospect Walter Montoya.
The 23-year-old midfielder had been linked to Argentine giants River Plate and Boca Juniors in January on the back of a fine 2016 with Eduardo Coudet's side.

But Jorge Sampaoli has won the battle for Montoya's signature and he will now carry out a medical in Seville prior to signing terms.
"Sevilla FC will count on the services of Argentine central midfielder Walter Montoya, subject to him passing the medical," a statement on the club's website explained.
"The agreement is complete both with his club, Rosario Central, and the player himself, who will sign for the next four-and-a-half seasons until June 30, 2021."

Montoya is the latest star to roll off the Central production line, with Franco Cervi and Giovani Lo Celso also earning moves to top European clubs in recent seasons.
Cervi stars for Benfica in Portugal, while Lo Celso completed a move to Unai Emery's Paris Saint-Germain at the start of the current transfer window.
Sevilla, meanwhile, now boast no less than eight South American-born players in their squad as they seek to unseat Real Madrid at the summit of La Liga.
The new signing will share the dressing room with compatriots Joaquin Correa, Luciano Vietto, Matias Kranevitter, Nicolas Pareja and Franco Vazquez (nationalised Italian) as well as Brazilians Ganso and Mariano.
However, Sevilla will need to free up a non-EU slot to add Montoya to their squad, with both Ganso and Japanese midfielder Hiroshi Kiyotake reportedly up for sale as a result.
