Mexico captain Rafa Marquez is satisfied with how Miguel Herrera's World Cup process with the Mexican national team is developing, but knows there is still work to do.

"I think we're at a seven (out of 10)," Marquez told journalists in Mexico City on Thursday. "We're undefeated under Miguel, although there are still lots of things to improve."

Marquez highlighted El Tri's poor first half and improved second 45 against the United States in Wednesday's 2-2 tie, indicating that the team has to learn from both experiences.

"I hope that the seven can become a ten in the time that we have," added Marquez.

The former Barcelona center back went on to stress how important participating in his fourth World Cup is to him at this late stage of his career.

"It is a dream, the same as the others of going to Europe and playing with a big club," he said. "Making history with the national team would also be a dream."

El Tri's captain also suggested that time is running out for players to prove themselves and suggested that Herrera's next squad will be very close to the one that goes to Brazil in June.
