The January transfer window provided teams with the chance to bolster their squads as the 2022/23 season pushes on.

Arsenal sit top the Premier League table and are hoping to solidify their first league title since the Invincibles in 2003/04.

They're challenged by Manchester City, who have won four of the past five titles but lie five points behind with a game in hand. Pep Guardiola prompted raised eyebrows when he allowed Portugal fullback Joao Cancelo to join Bayern Munich on loan following a deterioration in relations, without signing a replacement.

Manchester United are aiming for a return to the UEFA Champions League, battling with Tottenham for fourth spot. Chelsea are back from the pack, and will need to capture reinforcements if they are to push back up the table.

Liverpool completed the first big deal of the January window, as they captured Dutch forward Cody Gakpo, on a big-money deal laden with incentives. However, the market was shaken by Chelsea's late bid to beat Arsenal in the race for Ukrainian superstar Mykhailo Mudryk.

The London club then smashed the British transfer record by signing Argentina World Cup winner Enzo Fernandez for a gargantuan £106.8 million from Benfica.
