Despite the 2021/22 domestic season finishing less than a month ago, the Premier League is a fast moving beast, and plans for the new campaign are already in motion.

The 2022/23 Premier League season kicks off on August 6, 11 weeks after the final ball was kicked on the 2021/22 campaign, as all 20 teams prepare to do it all over again.

With the majority of the Premier League's biggest stars currently away on international duty, a delayed summer holiday is not due to kick in until mid-June, with pre-season pushed back into July.

However, the wheels are already turning on the new season, with the eagerly anticipated fixture list set to be confirmed this week.

When will the 2022/23 Premier League fixtures be revealed?

Despite not actually containing any football, the Premier League fixture release date is always marked in the diary for fans, as they look to plan for the months ahead.

Premier League chiefs have confirmed all fixtures for the 2022/23 season will be announced from 9am BST (4am ET) on Thursday, June 16.

However, the schedule is subject to change due to broadcast deals in place with domestic and international partners, with August's televised (UK) matches set to be confirmed at the start of July.

When will the 2022/23 Premier League start and finish?

As it stands, the 2022/23 Premier League season is due to start on Saturday August 6, 2022, however, that could be changed.

The 2021/22 campaign started with a Friday night tie, a day before its previously scheduled start, as Premier League new boys Brentford beat Arsenal 2-0.

That is a possibility for the incoming season with a final decision expected after consultation between the Premier League and broadcasters in the coming weeks.

The end date of the 2022/23 is more firmly established, with rules stating all 10 games on the final day must start at the same time, on Sunday, May 28. 2023.

Will the 2022 World Cup disrupt the 2022/23 Premier League season?

The inclusion of a mid-season/winter World Cup in Qatar has created an unprecedented situation within the Premier League ahead of the 2022/23 season.

FIFA's decision to interrupt the domestic calendar with a World Cup has created widespread controversy as the tournament grows closer.

The Premier League have confirmed they will implement a break within the season, currently set for Game Week 16, with matches played on the weekend of November 12/13 the final games before the competition starts on November 21.

The World Cup final is set for December 18, with the Premier League scheduled to restart for the traditional Boxing Day (December 26).

How it will impact the season remains to be seen with club vs country battles set to ignite from October onwards as Premier League duty comes into direct competition with World Cup preparations.
