Portugal and Ghana will face off in their opening match of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar on Thursday, November 24.

These two sides also clashed in the group stages of the 2014 tournament with Portugal triumphing 2-1 thanks to a late goal from Cristiano Ronaldo.

The current Manchester United outcast is likely appearing at his final World Cup and is desperate to claim the biggest piece of silverware missing from his trophy cabinet.

Ghana are the lowest-ranked nation competing in Qatar and Portugal will like their chances of claiming a convincing win.

Ronaldo and his teammates will look to put off-the-field speculation to one side and focus on matters on the pitch, with the action taking place at the innovative Stadium 974. The game kicks off at 19:00 local time in Qatar.

Here's how that translates to the major global regions, and how to watch the action in those territories.

Portugal vs. Ghana lineups

Portugal have arrived in Qatar without injured trio Diogo Jota, Pedro Neto and Ricardo Pereira. Coach Fernando Santos deployed a narrow 4-3-3 formation in their last match before the World Cup and it's unclear exactly what shape they'll take into this game.

Portugal probable (4-3-3, right to left): 1. Patricio (GK) — 20. Cancelo, 4. Dias, 3. Pepe, 19. Mendes — 8. Fernandes, 14. Carvalho,  18. Neves — 10. Silva, 7. Ronaldo, 11. Felix

Both Kamaldeen Sulemana and Daniel Kofi Kyereh have been named in Ghana's World Cup squad despite injury concerns. Expect both Ayew brothers, Andre and Jordan, to both start in this one.

Ghana probable (4-2-3-1, right to left): 1. Ati-Zigi (GK) — 2. Lamptey, 18. Amartey, 4. Salisu, 17. Rahman — 5. Partey, 6. Owusu — 13. Afriyie, 10. A. Ayew, 9. J. Ayew — 19. Williams.
