Portland Timbers' Fanendo Adi suspended for violent conduct image

Portland Timbers' Fanendo Adi has been handed one-match suspension and an undisclosed fine for a violent conduct against Sporting Kansas City on Sunday.

The MLS Disciplinary Committe found Adi guilty of throwing a high elbow at Ike Opara in the 26th minute of the league encounter and thus, will miss Timbers' fixture against Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturday.

Dom Dwyer's 53rd minute strike condemned the Timbers to their second defeat of the season with as the Wizards left the Providence Park with a 1-0 win.

The 26-year-old has netted five times in seven league encounters for Caleb Porter's team and could make a return against FC Dallas at the Toyota Stadium on April 30.
