The former Italy international, whose New York City FC side is second in the Eastern Conference, is in his second year in the league.

Pirlo revealed his desire to move to the United States was his primary reason for signing City, but the midfielder has grown to love MLS.
"It was a new league for me, but above all I wanted to come to America," Pirlo told Sky Italia. "It represents a new and different experience for me in a country that fascinated me. I also got the opportunity to study a new language.
"Football is on the ascendancy here and I decided to come and play a part of it. I love the style of sport in America. Here you come to the stadium with your family and the victory comes second. What counts first and foremost is the sense of people coming together."
