The 2024 Olympic Games in Paris will welcome the greatest athletes on the planet to the French capital.
As part of a huge celebration of sport, soccer will once again feature prominently on the schedule in Paris, despite the absence of 2020 men's gold medal winners Brazil.
Brazil's near miss in qualification for the 2024 Olympics has opened the door to a fresh challenge. Argentina are tipped to challenge France with the hosts paired in Group A alongside the USMNT.
The 16 teams qualified for the men's event have been split into four groups of four with the top two sides from each group progressing to the quarterfinal knockouts.

2024 men's Olympic soccer qualifiers
16 teams have qualified for the men's soccer event at the 2024 Olympic Games with all six of FIFA's continental confederations represented.
Teams need to finish in the top two in their group to reach the quarterfinals, which will be a knockout format from that point of the tournament onwards.

Olympic men's soccer tournament rules
The men’s soccer tournament opens up with a group phase that will eliminate half of the 16 teams involved. The eight teams finishing third and fourth in the groups will exit the competition with the remaining eight moving into the quarterfinals.
Group stage: The 16 teams are split into four groups from Group A to D. The top two teams after round-robin group play automatically advance to the quarterfinals.
The group stage rewards teams with three points for a win, one for a draw and zero for a loss. Teams are ranked on points with the first tiebreakers being (1) goal difference and (2) goals scored in that order. If teams are tied after the second tiebreaker, there are other predetermined criteria to separate them.
Knockout rounds: The top two teams in each group (eight in total) move on to a fixed bracket, single-elimination knockout round beginning with the quarterfinals, semifinals and the gold medal final match.
