The Montreal Impact have re-signed homegrown defender Wandrille Lefevre to a two-year deal, the club announced Thursday.

Lefevre, 28, is now tied to the Impact through 2018, with options for the 2019 and 2020 campaigns. The Canada international had been out of contract.

"I am very excited to be back in Montreal," Lefevre said. "This is my home. My relation with the supporters and the implications that I have with the city, since I arrived, were at the center of my decision to continue this adventure here."

The center back has made 45 appearances (40 starts) over four MLS campaigns in Montreal, including 13 matches last season. Lefevre also has appeared in one playoff match, five CONCACAF Champions League games and six Canadian Championship contests.
