Mo Salah’s chipped finish for Liverpool against Manchester City has been named the UEFA Champions League Goal of the Week, presented by Nissan!
The Egypt star’s close-range finish edged Cristiano Ronaldo’s overhead-kick against Juventus in the public vote, taking the award for the pick of the strikes from the quarter-finals.
Salah’s goal earned Liverpool a 2-1 victory in Manchester to confirm their place in the final four, while Ronaldo’s arrived during a 3-0 first-leg win in Turin.
Salah’s team-mate Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was also up for the accolade after his ferocious strike in the first-leg against City, while Barcelona’s Luis Suarez was nominated for his neat finish versus Roma.
Juventus’s Mario Mandzukic rounded off the nominations with a fine header that very nearly inspired one of the greatest comebacks in UEFA Champions League history.
