MLS has announced its 2017 Generation Adidas class, including the first two Canadian players who will be a part of the program.

UCLA forward Abu Danladi, UCLA midfielder Jackson Yueill and Syracuse defender Miles Robinson are the three American players in the class, while FC Edmonton midfielder Shamit Shome and former ANB Futbol forward Adonijah Reid are the two Canadians.

All five players will be eligible for the 2017 MLS SuperDraft on Jan. 13 in Los Angeles.

The Generation Adidas program allows MLS to sign youth national team and collegiate underclassmen players to contracts with the league. GA players do not count against an MLS team’s salary budget. The program was expanded to include Canadian players last year.

In addition to the five GA players, MLS announced the signing of five college players who also will be eligible for the draft: seniors Brandon Aubrey (Notre Dame), Julian Gressel (Providence College), Zeiko Lewis (Boston College) and Brian Wright (University of Vermont), and underclassman Jeremy Ebobisse (Duke).
