Mexico coach Miguel Herrera named his team a day ahead of Tuesday’s friendly game against Bolivia, with the 11 very much an experimental lineup that focuses on youth.
Moises Munoz will begin in goal and could captain the side, with a center back trio of Monterrey’s Hiram Mier, Tigres’ Hugo Ayala and Atlas’ Luis Venegas in front of him.
In the wingback positions, 20-year-old Pachuca player Rodolfo Pizarro will be on the right, with the more experienced Miguel Layun on the left.
Toluca’s Antonio Rios gets his first start as a Mexico player in the holding role, with Javier Aquino on the right-hand side of central midfield and Marco Fabian on the left in an attacking midfield trio.
Up front, Chivas USA’s Erick “Cubo” Torres gets the nod in his debut for the full Mexico national team, while Santos Laguna’s Javier “Chuletita” Orozco – who missed two good second-half chances against Chile in Saturday's 0-0 draw – will start alongside him.
Mexico’s South American opposition has not won a game since it defeated Haiti 2-1 in February 2013, and El Tri enters the match at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colo. as the heavy favorite.
