Arouna Kone scored the winner for Sivasspor in their 1-0 victory over Istanbul Basaksehir in Sunday's Turkish Super Lig encounter before leaving his team to finish the tie a man less.

The former Everton striker gave the hosts the lead in the 17th minute with his eight league strike this term. The goal turned out to be the winner but Kone was sent off for a second bookable offence in the dying moment of the game.

Emmanuel Adebayor was on parade for the entire duration of the encounter but could not add to his eight league tally and also, could not help his side stay another week at the summit of the Turkish first division log.

Congo marksman Thievy Bifouma and Algeria’s Carl Medjani were also on hand to propel the Sivas Stadium outfit to victory. Bifouma played for 82 minutes while the defensive midfielder saw out the game.

Sivasspor are eighth in the log after garnering 22 points from 15 top-flight encounters. Samet Aybaba's side will take on Bucaspor in a Turkish Cup encounter on Wednesday.
