Shaw in contract talks
Manchester United are ready to reward Luke Shaw with a new long-term contract at Old Trafford, claims The Sun .
Shaw’s current deal expires at the end of the season, but United are expected to trigger a one-year option to ensure he can’t leave on a free transfer in the summer.
However, Shaw’s resurgence in form in recent weeks has impressed manager Jose Mourinho sufficiently for talks to take place on a more long-term contract for the left-back.
Man Utd encouraged to make Fred bid
Manchester United are being encouraged to make a bid to sign Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fred before the transfer deadline, reports the Manchester Evening News .
Local rivals Manchester City had been keen to sign Fred in the January transfer window , but an injury to Leroy Sane has forced them to switch targets to Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez .
That has opened the door for United to make a late swoop for Fred, with the Brazilian reported to be among Jose Mourinho’s midfield targets.
'Bale not joining Man Utd'
Ryan Giggs believes a move to Manchester United would be a good option for Gareth Bale, but the Wales manager insists the attacker has no desire to leave Real Madrid.
The 28-year-old winger has been heavily linked to Old Trafford in recent years, and his trouble with injuries in recent seasons has enhanced talk of him leaving the Santiago Bernabeu.
Ex-United and Wales star Giggs, however, insists Bale still has a lot to offer the Champions League holders, as well as his national team, and expects him to stay put for the time being.

Man Utd not letting Blind go
Daley Blind is interested in leaving Manchester United for Roma, although a deadline-day switch to Serie A looks unlikely as Jose Mourinho is unwilling to lose the versatile Dutchman.
Blind made 39 appearances in all competitions last season for United, but he has only started three games in the Premier League this term.
Roma are on the hunt for a left-sided player after selling Emerson Palmieri to Chelsea and the Netherlands international's father Danny says a switch to the Italian capital would be favourable, but played down the chances of a deal going through.

Bayern baulk at €15m Embalo fee
Bayern Munich have baulked at the asking price for Benfica teenager Umaro Embalo, reports AZ .
The 16-year-old striker has been interesting Barcelona, Manchester City and Manchester United, but RB Leipzig had emerged as favourites to sign Embalo.
There was the potential for a late twist as Bayern considered a move, but the Bundesliga leaders have decided the €15 million fee being demanded is too high a risk.
Ozil to extend Gunners stay
Mesut Ozil is set to sign a new contract extension with Arsenal in the coming days, Goal can confirm.
The Germany international's current deal is due to expire at the end of June but he is expected to commit himself to a new long-term contract at Emirates Stadium.
The situation was very different at the beginning of January, when the player had yet to decide where his future lay and speculation that Manchester United may move for him was abound.

Bayern enter Pulisic picture
Bayern Munich are entering a race with Manchester United to sign Christian Pulisic from Borussia Dortmund, Sport Bild reports.
The German side could lose one of star wingers Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery at the end of the season as their contracts are yet to be renewed, and see United States international Pulisic as a good option to boost their attack.
But Borussia Dortmund have already set a price of €45 million for the 19-year-old and do not want to sell him, but Jose Mourinho's side are already sniffing about too.

Jose Mourinho mocked himself as "the monster that kills kids" as he insisted Marcus Rashford remains a crucial member of Manchester United's side after Alexis Sanchez's arrival.
Mourinho's attacking riches now include star forward Sanchez after the Chile international swapped Arsenal for Premier League rivals United last week.

Mata signs new Man United deal
