Manchester City have made a decent start to the season, only dropping points in their draw against Wolves, but Guardiola will be eager for his side to return to the top of the table.

Guardiola used the break to carefully study Saturday's opponents and was complimentary of their style of play.

“I was delighted by them. Usually, there is not too much time to watch opponents but in this case, we have had two weeks," said the Spaniard.

“I had time and I saw three games. I was really impressed. I understood when I watched them the reason why they are in the Premier League. They have really good players, experienced players and they try and (I like) the way they want to play."

Slavisa Jokanovic's side have secured just one win, one draw and suffered two defeats so far in their first season back in the top-flight and has confessed that the Man City game will not be an easy one.

"It wouldn't be a surprise if I said it's one of the most difficult games for a team who's recently been promoted," the Fulham boss said ahead of the game.

"We know how they play football, we know it's not easy to play at the Etihad. From another side, we interpret it as an exciting game. We're not giving up before kick-off or anything like that."

Manchester City are favourites to win Saturday's game, having lost just two of 40 games under Guardiola at the Etihad.
