Mame Diouf was on target for relegation-threatened Stoke City as they bowed 2-1 to Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday evening.

After a scoreless first half, Mauricio Pochettino's men took the lead through Christian Eriksen in the 52nd minute.

And five minutes later, Diouf brought the bet365 Stadium back to life after punishing a Hugo Lloris error for the equalizer.

The visitors regained their lead in the 63rd minute through Eriksen’s free-kick even though Harry Kane seems to have got the slightest of touches to the Denmark international’s kick.

Despite several attacking surge from Stoke, Spurs held on to grab a valuable away victory to remain level on points with third placed Liverpool.

The Senegalese was on from start to finish same as compatriot Badou Ndiaye, while Egypt’s Ramadan Sobhi was substituted in the 69th minute for Tyrese Campbell.

Kenya’s Victor Wanyama put up an impressive show but was replaced with eight minutes left to play.

Paul Lambert’s Stoke are placed 19th in the English topflight with 27 points after 33 outings. They face travel to West Ham United for their next outing on April 16.
