West Ham travel to Lyon, France in the second leg of their Europa League quarterfinal series, with the game perfectly balanced at 1-1 after the first leg.

Both sides had some success in the first leg, but the Hammers lost left back Aaron Cresswell to a straight red card in added time in the first half. His suspension will be a big miss for the East London side.

Lyon, 10th in France's Ligue 1, equalised through former Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele, and will be confident of getting a positive result on their home ground.

Knocking out Lyon would be a great achievement for West Ham, sixth in the Premier League, as they continue their hunt for their first European success since 1999.

Lyon vs West Ham predicted lineups

There are issues for Lyon after three of their key men limped off in the 1-1 draw with Strasbourg at the weekend. Goalkeeper Anthony Lopes, and midfielders Tanguy Ndombele and Houssem Aouar all left the field with injuries.

Together with Thiago Mendes, it is not yet determined whether any of them will be involved against West Ham. Lyon will already be without Maxence Caqueret, Ryan Cherki, and Sinaly Diomande.

Lyon predicted lineup (4-2-3-1): Pollersbeck (GK) — Emerson, Lukeba, Boateng, Gusto — Reine-Adelaide (or Ndombele), Mendes — Faivre, Paqueta, Toko-Ekambi — Dembele

West Ham are currently sweating on the fitness of center back Kurt Zouma (ankle), a native of Lyon, and an injury doubt for this game after coming off following only 28 minutes played against Brentford.

Aaron Cresswell is suspended and could be replaced by either right back Ben Johnson, who can also play left back, or the natural left back replacement in Arthur Masuaku. Manuel Lanzini is back available after sitting out the first leg due to suspension.

West Ham predicted lineup (4-2-3-1): Areola (GK) — Johnson, Diop, Dawson, Fredericks — Rice, Soucek — Lanzini, Fornals, Bowen — Antonio

Lyon vs West Ham betting odds & lines

Lyon begin the second leg as favourites as the home side. In the Europa League, Lyon are unbeaten so far, winning six out of their nine games in the competition.

However, the French side has only won one out of their last six games in all competitions, which means they're certainly a side that can be beaten.

West Ham have been in indifferent form recently (3W-3L-1D in all competitions). Having beaten Sevilla, they've only beaten relegation strugglers Everton in their last four games, and succumbed to a disappointing 2-0 loss to Brentford at the weekend.

The Hammers' form in the Europa League has generally been good, but they can't afford another performance like the one at the weekend given Lyon have only lost three of 20 matches at home this season.
