As the world watches with Lionel Messi's furious start to his Inter Miami career, his magical touch has graced the United States every time he steps on the pitch.

Messi's official boot partner Adidas has been heavily involved in the Argentine's move to the United States, reportedly offering a significant boost to Messi's MLS contract to help convince him to join Inter Miami over other offers.

Adidas, also the official kit maker of all MLS clubs, are looking to capitalize on Messi's explosion onto the U.S. soccer scene by pumping out Messi-branded products as fast as they can.

The Sporting News has the latest on the recent fall 2023 releases from Adidas, including a pair of boots, one of which is readily available to the public, while the other is expected to come with an extremely limited release.

Lionel Messi Leyenda 2.0 boot from Adidas released soon

One of the most sought after football boots around the globe is about to get a massive upgrade.

The Adidas Messi "Leyenda" series will get its second edition, set for a September 5 release according to reports. Currently referred to as the Leyenda 2.0, the newest release will surely be one of the most coveted boots around the world.

Back in March, Adidas released the Leyenda Speedportal.1, announcing it would not be available for purchase, immediately making it a rare commodity. The boot had its design released ahead of the 2022 World Cup, with Messi wearing a specially marked version at the tournament in Qatar. It was then released to the public a few months later but not made available for general purchase.

Because it was not made widely available, the Leyenda X Speedportal.1 is going for between $1,100 and $1,300 on Stock X.

The second edition of the Leyenda series is expected to be similarly released. Designs have not yet been leaked, but it's expected to be similar to the initial release, which was inspired by the +F50.6 Tunit boots that Messi wore at his first World Cup in 2006.

What does "Leyenda" mean?

The Spanish word "leyenda" translates in English to "legend," which pays respect to Messi, who many believe is the greatest of all time.

The first edition of the special boots themselves featured a primarily gold background, paired with blue, white and black pulled from the Argentinian flag.

Lionel Messi X Crazyfast boot from Adidas out now

While the Leyenda series is a limited release with a massive price point, there is a more readily available Messi release out now.

On August 17, Adidas released the Adidas Messi X Crazyfast "Infinito" (pictured above) to the general public.

Lionel Messi began wearing the boot on the pitch with Inter Miami, including in the U.S. Open Cup semifinal against Nashville SC on August 23.

The boot features a chrome background with sky blue and black coloring, which captures a similar color scheme from the Argentine flag. Messi posted a promotional photo to his Instagram (below) of him with the boot laid across his arm.

There is also another color scheme of the X Crazyfast, part of the Adidas X series, which features a white background, neon green trim, and black Adidas stripes.

From Adidas, the X Crazyfast is "a tribute to the everlasting legacy Messi has left his country and the game. From Rosario to the top of the world stage, these X CrazyFast boots, featuring iconic F50 stripes, are inspired by the trophies Messi has won for Argentina, his home country.

"With translucent design and lightweight performance, the X CrazyFast delivers game-changing pace. Achieve that streamlined approach on the pitch with AEROPACITY Speedskin, a single-layer monomesh covered by an intentionally placed double layer of low-opacity TPU film, which is built for stability and comfort, offering a second skin feel to the overall lightweight design."

These boots sport a retail price of $259.99, and can be found at Soccer.com or other retail outlets alongside other Messi products from Adidas including balls, shin guards, turf cleats and indoor shoes.
