Gary Cahill is confident N'Golo Kante will get even better after being impressed by how well his Chelsea team-mate has handled the pressure since his summer move.

Lukaku can become the world's best striker

Kante is the favourite to win this season's PFA Player of the Year after his performances have helped Chelsea to a 10-point lead at the top of the Premier League.

Chelsea face a busy week with three games in seven days and could take a huge step towards the title with a home win over Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Cahill thinks that Kante has been a big part in Chelsea's improvement under Antonio Conte this season after last year's 10th-placed finish.

"We saw last season at Leicester how good he was," Cahill told Chelsea's match day programme, ahead of the Crystal Palace game. "To come in and deal with the pressures that come with moving to a club like Chelsea and adapt the way he has is a testament to him.

Why Mbappe must stay at Monaco

"For me and the rest of the defence it’s great to have him protecting us like he does. He’s come here and adapted straight away and improved even more.

"He’s going to keep working hard and keep improving, he’s still only young. He’s been absolutely fantastic for us this season, but it is important to say everyone has."
