The agent of Napoli midfielder Jorginho, who is being linked with Manchester rivals City and United, claims there are “several clubs” pursuing his client.
The Brazil-born Italy international has seen his profile rocket this season to bring him onto the radar of leading sides across Europe.
There are, however, a number of other sides ready to make a move if a transfer scramble is sparked this summer.
Jorginho’s representative, Joao Santos, told Radio Kiss Kiss: “I’ll talk with the club because Jorginho has another two years on his contract.
“But there are also several clubs interested in him, and we have to understand if Napoli want to move forward with their starters or not.
“At the moment all we know is that [Pepe] Reina will leave.”
Experienced goalkeeper Reina is set to depart as a free agent this summer, with AC Milan the favourites to secure his signature.
A sizeable fee would be required to lure Jorginho through the same exits, but Napoli could be tempted into parting with a man tied to them until 2020.
A side competing for Serie A title honours this season are aware that bringing in funds from certain sales will allow them to invest elsewhere and continue building for the future.
