Ghana international Jordan Ayew could be rewarded for his purple patch of form in January after earning a nomination for the Player of the Month honour.

The frontman is part of a three-man shortlist, which also includes defender Alfie Mawson and goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski.

Of seven games played by the club in January, Jordan started five, netting three times.

He scored his first goal in a 1-1 away draw with Newcastle United in the Premier League, before netting a solo effort in the 2-1 triumph over Wolverhampton Wanderers in the FA Cup.

And on Wednesday, the 26-year-old was at it again with a cool finish in a 3-1 league victory over Arsenal.

In all, Jordan has 25 topflight appearances, involving 22 starts and five goals, to his name this season.

In eight appearances under new manager Carlos Carvalhal, the Black Star has registered four goals.

The winner of the award will be decided by public votes.
