England travel to Naples to take on Italy in Euro 2024 qualification on Thursday, with the two European powerhouses set to meet as the strongest sides in Group C.

Italy are the defending European champions, having defeated England on penalties in the Euro 2020 final, but they are still considered underdogs this time around after missing the 2022 World Cup altogether.

In-form Marcus Rashford is not available for England after withdrawing from the squad with a thigh injury, so they will have to look elsewhere for goal production. Meanwhile, the Italian squad is chock full of unheralded players at international level.

With the upcoming European Championship tournament in Germany just a year away, these two nations get their journey under way against a challenging opponent.
