"John has been here a long, long time. I think he has been a tremendous servant for Chelsea Football Club but I did have a bet with him last year that he wouldn't beat my [appearance] record," Harris told Goal .
"He has scored more goals than me! But I am still proud to have played more games than anyone in the history of Chelsea Football Club and I don't think that will be broken."
Terry may go down as Chelsea's greatest ever player but he will only be ranked in third place on his club's all-time appearance list - behind both Harris and Peter Bonetti.
Harris remains an employee of Chelsea and works on match days in hospitality. Gary Chivers works alongside him and he made 133 appearances of his own at Chelsea after coming through Senrab FC, a youth team in London that also produced Terry.
Chivers wants to see Terry return to Stamford Bridge after his playing days are finished.
"John Terry has been a colossus at this football club but he wants to play for another couple of years," Chivers told Goal . "It will be so, so sad to see him go but what a man. Hopefully he will come back and coach or have some part in this football club because he deserves it."
