Amine Harit was convinced to join Schalke in the face of interest from Arsenal and other Premier League clubs after being shown videos of their fans.
The 20-year-old moved to the Bundesliga from Ligue 1 side Nantes in the summer for a fee of £7 million, and has since provided four assists in eight appearances.
Harit, who won his first cap for Morocco earlier in October, was reportedly scouted by the Gunners, and was also the subject of bids from a number of English sides, who offered a better salary than Schalke.
However, having watched Harit extensively, the club became aware that the player has an emotional side, and subsequently sent him videos of the club’s vociferous support.
Speaking to Sport Bild, sporting director Christian Heidel said: "We showed Harit emotions from Schalke, which really impressed him.
"With the ball he is brutally fast. We missed such a player last season."
Schalke are currently sixth in the Bundesliga, six points behind leaders Borussia Dortmund.
