Where is Hope Solo?
Solo is married to former NFL player Jerramy Stevens. The couple were wed Nov. 14, 2012, two days after Stevens was arrested on suspicion of fourth-degree domestic violence assault following a house-party brawl that left Solo injured. Stevens was released after the judge in the case ruled there wasn't enough evidence to hold him.
Solo was a victim of the 2014 iCloud leaks. Explicit images of her were posted online.
In 2019, the couple announced they were expecting twins; Vittorio Genghis and Lozen Orianna Judith were born March 4, 2020.
Hope Solo criminal record
In 2014, Solo was arrested and charged with two misdemeanor counts of fourth-degree assault — one against her half-sister and one against her nephew.
She pleaded not guilty and was released. Solo only missed one game with the NWSL's Seattle Reign. The league allowed her to continue playing during the 2014 season, despite the controversy.
Her charges were dismissed in January 2015 based on a lack of cooperation by the accusers. She played in the FIFA Women's World Cup that year and helped America capture the championship.
The prosecution tried to reinstate the charges in October 2015, and Solo's petition to review the case in June 2016 was denied. All charges were officially dropped in May 2018.
Solo was suspended for 30 days by U.S. Soccer in 2015 after Stevens was arrested near Los Angeles on suspicion of DUI while driving a team van. Solo was a passenger in the vehicle.
In May 2022, Solo was arrested near Winston-Salem, N.C., on suspicion of driving while intoxicated, resisting arrest and misdemeanor child abuse. Her twins, 2 years old at the time, were in the car when she was found passed out at the wheel.
According to ESPN, the latter two charges were voluntarily dropped and Solo pleaded guilty to DWI. She received a 24-month suspended sentence and a 30-day active sentence. She spent 30 days at a rehabilitation facility and was ordered to pay $2,500 in fines and $600 for the cost of lab tests.
In August 2022, Solo discussed her arrest in depth on her "Hope Solo Speaks" podcast.
"My sense of strength and pride became my two worst enemies. And I found myself living the worst night of my life. I let alcohol get the better of me in this moment on this god-awful day, and I will suffer the consequences for some time," she said (per USA Today).
