Euro 2024 hosts Germany suddenly have some questions to answer in their final pre-tournament tuneup friendly against Greece in Gladbach on Friday.

Riding high into the summer on the heels of a largely successful domestic season for Germany internationals at Bundesliga clubs, Julian Nagelsmann's side was served a dose of reality after a disappointing 0-0 draw with Ukraine on Monday.

Germany dominated proceedings throughout that scoreless draw but flopped in front of goal. They out-shot Ukraine 27-6 across the 90 minutes as Pascal Gross was brilliant in the buildup, but Kai Havertz and the Germany attack managed to put only five efforts on target and failed to find the back of the net.

Greece agonizingly missed out on a place at Euro 2020 after falling to debutants Georgia on penalties in their playoff final.

Germany vs. Greece prediction, odds

  • Moneyline lean: Germany (-300)
  • Score prediction: Germany 3-1 Greece

Germany may have failed to find the net against Ukraine, but they completely dominated that match and on another day would have been overwhelming winners. Against Greece, who like to play an offensive style of football similar to Ukraine's, Germany should have no problem controlling the match and this time coming away as winners.

Germany vs. Greece best bet

  • Odds: -115 (BetMGM)

Germany kept Ukraine largely quiet, especially after halftime when they conceded just one shot, but Greece present a stronger attacking threat. They pummeled Kazakhstan back in March by a 5-0 score and then played to a scoreless draw with Georgia in their Euro playoff final which featured a whopping 29 shots between the sides but a decisive lack of finishing.

Going further back, Greece put two goals up on France in a Euro qualifier last November and scored twice against a defensively adept Australia side in a friendly prior to that. Germany have been known to leave themselves open at the back at times, especially against high-intensity opponents like Greece, so there should be goals for both teams in this one.

Germany vs. Greece prop bet

  • Pick: Half with most goals — 1H
  • Odds: +195 (BetMGM)

A lot of times in these friendlies, the second half gets bogged down with substitutions and fouls, compared to the first half which has a lot more flow. With Germany, they are often more open in the first half before closing things down after the break at the back.

These two sides have a penchant to play more fluidly before the break, especially in a friendly environment. At nearly 2/1 odds, this is strong value.
