Another LA Galaxy hero is moving on.

Forward Mike Magee announced his retirement Wednesday after a 14-year MLS career, including a pair of MLS Cup titles and an MVP campaign in 2013.

The 32-year-old retires with 70 goals and 38 assists over 316 regular season appearances with the New York Red Bulls, Galaxy and Chicago Fire, along with eight goals in 23 playoff matches.

"It has been an honor to represent the New York Red Bulls, Chicago Fire and the LA Galaxy and to be a part of a league that continues to grow so rapidly in this country," Magee said in a news release. "I am extremely thankful to everyone that has supported, inspired and guided me on and off the field throughout my time as a professional. I look forward to the next step in this journey as a spend time with my family and friends."

Drafted as an 18-year-old by the then-New York/New Jersey MetroStars in 2003, Magee spent six seasons with the club before joining the Galaxy ahead of the 2009 campaign. He went on to be a key facet of a Galaxy dynasty, as the club won the Western Conference title in 2009, the Supporters' Shield in 2010 and 2011, and the MLS Cup in 2011 and 2012.

The Chicago native enjoyed his finest season in 2013, when he scored six goals for the Galaxy before a midseason trade to the Fire. He netted 15 times in 22 matches following the trade, with his 21-goal campaign enough to win the MLS MVP award.

Hampered by a hip injury over his subsequent two years in Chicago, Magee returned to the Galaxy as a free agent last offseason and recorded six goals and four assists in 33 MLS appearances (17 starts).

"As a teammate and friend, I thank Mike for everything he has done for the city of Los Angeles and the sport of soccer in this country throughout his career," Galaxy president Chris Klein said. "He will be greatly missed on the field and we wish him the best in the next stage of his career. He will always be a member of this club."

Magee joins coach Bruce Arena and captain Robbie Keane in departing the club this offseason. English star Steven Gerrard also has announced his retirement, and the club seems to have moved on from all-time leading scorer Landon Donovan after his brief return from retirement last year.
